The Lehmbauforum has the aim to enhance the knowledge and techniques of earthen architecture. You will find infos about earth as construction material and actual events about earth building. One of our business fields lies in the consulting of ecological building and environmental friendly building materials, especially the sustainable aspects of earthen architecture. The questions of heritage or are still the most common ways of earth building in Germany and also world-wide. People often doesn't even know where to find building materials, handcrafts or architects for the rehabilitation of their old earth buildings.
Umbra makes project development and consultancy for this group of building owners. Umbra is very busy in the dissemination of earthen architecture and organizes international conferences for architects, researchers, earth builders and interested people.
